What Our Clients Say

  • "[The client] did not come with an extensive background in or particular sensitivity to historic resources or design review processes, and Carrie performed an important mediating and educative role. The significance and difficulty of such a role cannot be overestimated.

    -State Historic Preservation Office representative

  • "Carrie acted with reasonableness, sensitivity and integrity... and the capacity to divine the proper outcome—that which appropriately balances all of the competing interests."

    -City Official

  • "I have worked extensively with Ms. Barton over the past 5 years on issues related to historic preservation and Section 106 implementation and management, and have found her professionalism and knowledge of historic preservation issues and regulations to be of the highest caliber. She is not only a self-starter, but has also displayed a continual ability to keep the larger picture in mind when resolving or proposing solutions to historic preservation and Section 106 issues."

    -Federal Government Client

  • "I would like to take this time to express my overwhelming support for PRESERVE/scapes. They took action when needed; showed restraint when necessary; and demonstrated vision where possible to safeguard this National Treasure."
